Jakarta Formula E 2020 Date is Set on June 6

The Jakarta Provincial Government and Formula E announce the entry of the Jakarta E-Prix circuit in the ABB Formula E Championship Series 2019/2020 season. This electric single-seater championship will officially be held in the heart of Indonesia's capital city, precisely in the area of the National Monument (Monas) in June 2020.

And today we announce that Formula E 2020 will be held in Jakarta on Saturday, June 6, 2020 here in Monas

This plan was announced directly by the Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, and Formula E Chief Championship Officer, Alberto Longo, at the Jakarta E-Prix press conference at Monas, Friday afternoon (9/20). Anies began his remarks by describing Jakarta's journey to host Formula E season 6, as well as officially announcing the location and time of the event.

"In June, precisely in Brazil, together with Alberto, we discussed the continuation of Jakarta as the host of Formula E 2020. The discussion finally found its end in August. And today we announce that Formula E 2020 will be held in Jakarta on Saturday, June 6, 2020 here in Monas," Anies said as quoted by PPID press release, Friday (9/20).

Jakarta to Host Formula E in 2020

According to him, the prestigious event that is held on three continents is in line with Jakarta's vision of transportation, which uses emissions-free transportation. So it will have an impact on the environment and lifestyle of the community to use sustainable energy-based transportation. "Jakarta must be able to be a pioneer in the mobility of its inhabitants because it is our commitment. With the existence of Formula E we encourage people to use vehicles that have sustainable energy and are environmentally friendly," he added.

The benefits that will be felt are in long-term, especially Anies asserted that he has signed an implementation contract for five consecutive years, so that what is invested in 2020 will have a significant impact four years afterwards. "We hold it five years in a row so the investment we make will be used many times and it is hoped that this activity will become an annual event awaited by the Indonesian people and invite the international community," he closed.

Meanwhile, the implementation of Formula E in Jakarta is welcomed by Alberto Longo who explained the main reason Jakarta is chosen to host this event which would be carried out by PT Jakarta Propertindo. "Formula E is a weapon to fight climate change and city pollution and we always race at the heart of the city, and the reason for choosing Jakarta is because we have the same vision to pay more attention to the planet and the solution of that is Formula E which is a promotion platform for the community to love the environment more," he explained.
